Differences between buffalo and beef
Although buffalo and beef may look similar at first glance, there are some important differences between the two types of meat:
- Taste and texture: Our buffalo feed on fresh grass and herbs. In terms of taste, the meat is more likely to have a mild, slightly nutty note. The meat also tends to be leaner than beef and, due to its texture, is particularly suitable for grilling.
- Nutrient content: Buffalo meat is rich in proteins, vitamins and minerals such as iron and zinc. Compared to beef, it contains less fat and calories and is therefore a good option for barbecue lovers who pay attention to their diet.
- Environmental friendliness: As a rule, keeping buffaloes is more environmentally friendly than cattle. Buffaloes require less water and food because they are natural grazing animals and live in extensive grazing areas.
